At Heartland, children and adolescents enrolled in our residential treatment program can continue to work toward their high school diploma (or GED) through the Nevada R-5 School District.
Nevada R-5 provides an on-campus school with fully certified teachers and paraprofessionals. Classes include reading, English, math, science and social sciences, and students may also choose from health, speech, F.A.C.S., P.E., independent living, computer applications, personal finance and GED preparation classes. During the summer, residents may attend summer classes for 20 days to earn half credit.
Heartland’s goal is to provide each of our residents with not only the tools for an emotional recovery but also the educational tools for a bright, independent future.
